RIP Jessica Walter

Sad news this afternoon as we learned that Jessica Walter, a.k.a. Lucille Bluth, has passed away at 80 years old. Reading her obit in Variety, it’s obvious she did a lot more than just play Lucille Bluth and I will definitely have to brush up on many of those performances. Still, to a generation of television viewers, especially early-middle millennials like myself, I can’t see her and not think of some of the best comedic lines ever spoken on broadcast television.

I’ll be sure to make myself a vodka rocks and a piece of toast for breakfast this weekend in her honor. Until then, I’ll be rewatching some of her best moments from Arrested Development.

¡Feliz Cinco de Cuatro!

Arrested Development is back!

As someone who binged the first three seasons on Hulu during the Bush administration, I was pumped when season four hit Netflix in 2013. I won’t lie, though, season four was hard to follow and left me disappointed. I’ve been looking forward to a chronological cut of season four since I heard someone on reddit put one together nearly five years ago.

Hopefully the season four recut gets Arrested Development back on track with a new season five not too far away.

In Netflix’s upcoming drama Ozark, Jason Bateman takes a dark turn as a Marty Byrde, a man trying to live a normal life with his dysfunctional family — while working as the top money launderer for the second-largest drug cartel in Mexico. After his partner is caught embezzling money, he is guilty by association and somehow convinces his vicious handler to spare his life and let him relocate his family and bring his money-laundering ways from the suburbs of Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks.[via Deadline]

Editor’s Note: Introducing Papa Giorgio: “I’ll be bringing you a lot of the entertainment news here on The 300’s, along with the occasional baseball or hockey story. Thanks for having me.”

LET’S GO. I’ve been waiting for a show to give me those Breaking Bad feels since it went off the air in 2013. Lots of shows have come close, but this just might be the one. It’s nice to see Jason Bateman play a role outside Michael Bluth that doesn’t make me roll my eyes (looking at you every movie he’s ever made). Reviews are slowly coming in and they are overwhelmingly positive so let’s hope this isn’t some elaborate cocktease projected by the fake news. Ozark premieres this Friday, July 21st on Netflix. Check out the trailer below.

The Celtics Free Agency Plans are Crashing and Burning and Free Agency Hasn’t Even Started Yet

I swear to christ, Celtics fans need their own personal J. Walter Weatherman. Blake Griffin re-signs with the Clippers, Paul George gets traded to the Thunder, and now the Celtics free agency plans are spiraling out of control.

We are now BANKING on Gordon Hayward signing with the Celtics or we are all fucked. I forgot my own rule to never get excited about rumored #WycFireworks until the pen was put to paper. This could all have been avoided if Danny Ainge had only left a note.
