The Madden Curse has pretty much been disproven in recent years, but this, this is concering. Tom Brady is on pace to get sacked more than he ever has before (at 40 fucking years old no less) and now we have the Sports Illustrated cover legit hunting people down. All 3 of these guys are out with significant injuries, probably for the rest of the season. So stay woke guys, this has me nervous.
These primetime games have featured some HELLACIOUS hits the first two weeks of the season. First we had JJ Watt nearly cutting a guy in half on Thursday night and last night on Monday Night Football we had Eli getting absolutely smoked. Looking like the lady out of the Life Alert commercial.
I’m sure all the tough guys and practice heroes will say stop babying the QBs, put a skirt on em etc. etc. but my god thats a 300 pound dude falling on your neck and head. Not a great position to be in, especially for a guy with two brothers that have had spine/neck injuries. Despite Gruden saying “thats why” Eli Manning is great, my advice would be to bail out on those ones before you look like this:
So on the final play of the game last night, Bengals lineman Russell Bodine nearly got cut in half by JJ Watt after a goddamn buddy pass from Andy Dalton.
Pretty sure a Center isn’t the greatest guy to get the ball to in a last second, desperation, lateral play, but hey to each his own. Unfortunately for Bodine, he was right on the motherfucking train tracks and JJ Watt SMOKED him.
Just to put this into perspective Bodine, an NFL lineman, is 6’3″ 308 lbs and JJ Watt wrapped him up like a goddamn Christmas present.
Man just one time I’d love ESPN to bring back our favorite CTE inducing segment. He got…….JACKED UP!
So just a quick post here late on a Friday. Just wanted to point out the fact that the Patriots are the biggest playoff favorite since 1998 with a spread somewhere between 15.5-16.5 over the Texans, depending on who you ask. Thats 3 scores folks. Remember, we did beat the Texans 27-0 with our third string quarterback.
I expect a swift and ferocious beatdown of old friend Bill O’Brien and his squad. Even JJ Watt pump up speeches and letterman jackets can’t stop it.
This is the Drive for 5, this is for Roger Goodell, Ryan Grigson, the Wells Report and every other asshole involved in the DeflateGate story. This is for freedom. Lets get it boys.
CBS Sports – Bad news: The Raiders are down to No. 3 quarterback Connor Cook, and it looks like he will start in Saturday’s wild-card matchup in Houston…The Raiders, meanwhile, are “moving forward with the expectation” that Cook will be under center this week, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport because No. 2 quarterback Matt McGloin suffered a shoulder injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Broncos.
Connor Cook, the man of exactly zero NFL starts will be making his first career start in the playoffs this weekend with both David Carr and Matt McGloin out with injuries. If *this* guy:
is making his first start in the NFL playoffs and its the guy you’re depending on, then you are fucked.
I’m a huge body language guy; theres a reason everyone points to Jay Cutler’s shitty attitude and body language. Probably has a direct effect on him being a shitty quarterback. And I don’t care how many TD’s Cook threw in college. This is all I need to see. Just absolutely blowing off the guy handing him the trophy so he can get his shine. Gotta respect the little guys. That’s the move of a dickhead.
Luckily for Cook (who actually played pretty decent against the Broncos) the Raiders are playing the also terrible Texans so who knows maybe he plays decent, but I would not be surprised if he gets smashed. And its really too bad JJ Watt isn’t playing because that guy DESPISES young QBs who are a little too confident.
